About Anna:
Anna is a kind and gentle young lady who is hardworking and sharp in school. She is the first of two sisters living with her mom and dad. The situation may not sound very needy but unfortunately, Anna’s dad was a drunkard for many years and still has not taken responsibility for the family. Her mother comes from a day’s journey away and has struggled with asthma and long term effects of childhood malnutrition leaving her unable to provide for her family. She is a born again lady and has been a great encouragement to her girl though she is unable to take them through school. Operation Hope team members heard her story as they were at her high school visiting another student and have occasionally paid for her as they are able. However, we believe with the stability and relationship that can be provided through sponsorship she will do very well.
Community & Project Profile
Anna is from Eastern Kenya, a place known as Ukambani. The community struggles with food and water because the rainfalls are few and they depend on rain fed agriculture. Typical houses are constructed with bricks and mud. The most commonly spoken language is Kikamba.
The regional diet normally consists of corn and beans.
Your sponsorship will help this child continue going to school, provide some of his basic needs, and will give the child an opportunity to receive Bible teachings and emotional support.
